Job title: BAL Student Engagement and
Recruitment Officer
Department: British Academy of Lebanon (BAL)
Reporting to: BAL Academic Director
The
BAL Student Engagement and Recruitment Officer is responsible for the
development and implementation of BAL student engagement and recruitment
strategy. She/he should provide advice and guidance on BAL undergraduate
postgraduate recruitment issues to staff across the University, including
portfolio development using market intelligence. The officer should manage the
gathering and use of data to contribute to decision-making concerning the students’
recruitment plan and the University’s reputation. She/he should promote and
raise awareness of BAL with key internal and external interest groups by organizing
on-campus recruitment events and representing the university off-campus.
Scope of Work:
The BAL Student Engagement
and Recruitment Officer should liaise with:
- Internally: BAL Academic
Director, Admission Officers, IT staff, and Social Media staff.
- Externally: Schools,
colleges, organization, current and prospective students, advertising, and PR
agencies if necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enhance existing/develop new
relationships with schools
and colleges and
other national organizations
where appropriate undergraduate and postgraduate applicants are to be found.
- Develop and organize a range
of on-campus recruitment events by liaising with relevant academic and
administrative colleagues.
- Act as the University
lead for University-wide recruitment events for BAL, such as the Visit Days, by
liaising with Admissions staff and relevant colleagues and the PR department.
- Present the University
at appropriate off-campus events, and to visitors, applicants and families
on-campus.
- Develop information on
student recruitment and produce reports to inform the development of student
recruitment and to target new recruitment potentials.
- Present the campus in
the Student Recruitment Committee.
- Encourage BAL students in
initiatives offered by the University in the student journey for different year
groups.
- Support the team with
work on orientation and any student transition related projects.
- Take a lead role in
developing and implementing the student recruitment strategy to support BAL
strategic objectives with emphasis on developing the use of web, e-marketing
and social media.
- Systematically gather market and competitor intelligence and
conduct market research.
- Develop a network of relevant marketing contacts within and
outside the university and use this network to inform the development of BAL
activities.
- Manage the development and market analysis of promotional
material for publication via print, web, and social media by liaising with
departmental staff or relevant colleagues.
- Report BAL’s annual
entries for the undergraduate and postgraduate prospectuses.
Job Requirements:
- Qualifications
- A Bachelor degree in
Marketing and or Sales. Holding a master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience & Knowledge
- Experience working in
a customer-focused environment, and experience of providing information &
advice are essential requirements.
- Experience of the
Higher Education sector, and understanding of both Undergraduate &
Postgraduate Higher Education needs are desirable requirements.
- Skills
- Computer literate with experience of MS Word, Excel,
email packages, and ability to work with speed and accuracy are essential
requirements.
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with the use and
analysis of data.
- Communication
