Scope of Work:
The
position-holder main responsibility is to develop research culture at the
University by creating an environment conducive to intellectual and research
growth, manage and supervise effectively and efficiently research programs and
administrative affairs of the Research Office build research partnerships, and
lead all matters involving research.
Duties
and Responsibilities:
- Understands
and adheres to the values, mission, and vision of MUBS.
- Sets and
leads strategic planning for the Research Office that is in line with the
University’s strategic plan objectives and goals.
- Promotes
and facilitates top-notch collaborative and interdisciplinary.
- Builds and supports a community of innovative researchers
to enhance research capacity at the University and encourage external research
opportunities for students and staff.
- Establishes linkages with appropriate academic
departments.
- Facilitates applications for external and internal
grants from the University and provides research funding opportunities.
- Facilitates the establishment of research
partnerships with external agencies.
- Aids in faculty and student recruitment and
retention by developing a research culture at the University.
- Develops local, national, and international
partnerships between the Research Office and researchers in the public and
private sectors.
- Acts as a liaison between the University and the
community by establishing research initiatives of mutual benefit and
transferring knowledge through outreach and technology transfer.
- Organizes workshops, seminars, and trainings for
undergraduate and graduate students as well as academic members.
- Supervises personnel, financial management and
operations, and budgets at the Research Office.
- Works effectively with the Research Office
Committee.
- Performs
other job-related duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The position-holder is required to get familiar with
all MUBS policies and procedures and to always comply with them.
- Confidentiality & Data Protection
The position-holder is required to maintain
confidentiality of all information about students, staff, and faculties, and to
implement necessary measures to protect collected data at all times.
The position-holder is required to be flexible in
developing his/her role in agreement with the Provost. In addition, s/he may be
required by the designated manager to carry out any other duty suitable with
her/his knowledge and expertise.
