The
role of the Funding and Grant Management Officer is to outsource funding. The
focus is mainly to strengthen the financial sustainability of MUBS, including
the National Wellness Network (NWN), through the development of and reporting
on grants, projects, and other new funding streams.
Scope of the job:
The Funding and
Grant Management officer should write proposals and seek grants for financial
sustainability and capacity building purposes for the various needs of MUBS and
NWN.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Outsource, and secure funds from government and non-government
organizations locally and internationally.
- Deal with financial aspects of grant and project management,
fundraising and donor reporting.
- Participate in University’s project monitoring activities.
- Support the financial management and reporting of the national and
international projects, including responding to donors on urgent budget
questions.
- Preparing monthly, mid-year
and end-of-year financial reports for projects.
- Prepare and support audits.
- Monitor project payments
and human resources allocation against approved budgets and donor requirements.
- Analyze and forecast costs
and budgets for on-going and future projects.
- Keep an up-to-date list and
analyze future funding opportunities for MUBS and NWN, including institutional
donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, etc.
- Screen funding
opportunities for alignment with MUBS objectives and work.
- Develop project ideas and
proposals with MUBS and NWN members with accurate budgets.
- Develop and implement plans
for new income streams including through the MUBS website.
- Prepare documents for
internal and external communication that give oversight of MUBS projects.
- Keep the MUBS accountability
and financial transparency web-page accurate and up to date.
- Identify areas of
organizational development to improve projects and grants management.
- Collect information for
monitoring purposes.
Job Requirements:
- Qualifications
- A Bachelor degree in any related major or subject (Social Science, Educational
Management, or Business).
- Master’s degree in the field.
- Experience &
Knowledge
- Previous experience in securing funds from
government and non-government organizations locally and internationally.
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment, and experience of
providing information & advice are essential requirements.
- Experience of the Higher Education sector, and understanding of both
Undergraduate & Postgraduate Higher Education needs are desirable
requirements.
- Skills
- KPIs in relation to outsourcing funding.
- Computer literate with experience of Project
Management programs, MS Word, Excel, email packages, and ability to work with
speed and accuracy are essential requirements.
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with the
use and analysis of data.
