DR. NAEL ALAMI
Provost, MUBS
Dr. Nael Alami earned his doctoral degree in
molecular neuroscience from The Ohio State University and completed his
postdoctoral training in St Jude Children’s Hospital, where he investigated
disease mechanisms involved in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and other
motor neuron diseases. He then moved to Stanford where he studied motivation,
resilience, and the importance of mindsets in shaping our personalities and
brain development.
Dr. Alami’s research is published in leading
scientific journals, describing his work on stem cell regeneration to counter
neuronal degeneration while working in Columbia University (NY, USA) and
Harvard University (Boston, USA).
After returning to Lebanon, Dr. Alami was appointed MUBS VP for Research &
Innovation and Managing Director of MECAT Education Training & Consulting
in Dubai. In July 2019 he was appointed as Provost, MUBS.
