On Wednesday November 19, MUBS celebrated Independence Day with a massive turnout from the surrounding community including Lebanese Army and Civil Defense officials, various municipality heads and politicians, Ministry of Education representatives, as well as principals and staff from various high schools and vocational schools, in addition to MUBS Aley students and their parents.
The celebration began with the national anthem followed by a speech presented by Aley Student Representative, Emad Salha about the meaning of independence and the important role education plays in its protection. Mr. Hatem Al Hakim, Principal of Maroun Abboud Official Secondary School – Abadiyeh Branch, and representative of Mr. Mohammad Keshly, the Secondary Education Division Official, presented a speech celebrating the occasion.
Dr. Hatem Alamy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at MUBS, delivered a speech focusing on the role of education in enhancing our country followed by an overview of the latest developments and accomplishments of MUBS, in addition to handing out honorary trophies to the principals of high schools and vocational schools.
Finally, the crowd at the Resaleh Hall in Aley enjoyed a performance by Mr. George Wadih Al Safi who entertained the audience with patriotic songs celebrating national unity.
