By MUBS Communications Dept., 2022.

On World Diabetes Day, the National Wellness Network (NWN) and the Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS), in collaboration with Aley Municipality, Leo Higher Metn Club, and Mar Youssef Medical Clinic- Deir Al Harf, organized a free medical day for about 60 patients at NWN's Aley Branch.

This event included consultations with Dr. Chawki Haddad, a Diabetes Specialist, vision tests with Ms. Dana Al Laham, a Licensed Optometrist, and Body Composition Analysis tests with Ms. Hitaf Makarem, a Licensed Dietitian, as well as medicine provided by NWN and Mar Youssef Medical Clinic- Deir Al Harf. Furthermore, JB Medical Services Lab sponsored the event by offering 50% off blood tests. Practicum students were also able to participate in nutrition tests, nurse assessments, and event planning. Consequently, the goal of the medical day was to improve the well-being of diabetic patients by providing health services and keeping them informed about any risks they may face, as well as to raise awareness about this disease so that people can avoid it before it occurs.

This event affirms MUBS’s commitment to UN sustainable development goals, specifically, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Building Partnerships). For more about MUBS' efforts toward achieving UN SDGs, visit our page: www.mubs.edu.lb/sdg
