As part of the “Science in the Community” seminar series and in alignment with the “MUBS Cares” mission, the Modern University for Business & Science hosted DiaLeb in its Aley Campus on July 11th.
Ms. Christelle Awkar, Awareness Program Coordinator at DiaLeb, delivered a lecture on the increased prevalence of Diabetes in Lebanon and the region. Ms. Awkar focused on the importance of community work and volunteering for university students, especially those willing to become successful professionals in the nutrition and public health field. She also expressed her willingness to receive MUBS students who wish to pursue internships at DiaLeb.
At the end of the seminar, more than 20 glucose testings were performed as part of DiaLeb “What’s your Number” campaign and educational material was distributed to the attendees.
