The Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) hosted the British Lebanese Business Group (BLBG) around a presentation UK Education in Lebanon for its first meeting of the New Year on 11 January 2018.

The Chairman of the BLBG, Graham Ball, welcomed the audience compiled of Lebanese and British professionals, thanking MUBS Chairman Dr Hatem Alamy for hosting their inaugural meeting of 2018.

Dr. Samer Hamzeh, Dean of the British Academy in Lebanon (BAL), was the principle guest speaker. In his presentation Dr Hamzeh shared the history of BAL, the result of a partnership between Lebanon’s MUBS and several British Universities, most notably Cardiff Metropolitan University (CMU). Dr. Hamzeh explained the objectives and the benefits of BAL, an example of the ties and co-operative ventures between Lebanon and the UK with benefits to both. Dr. Hamzeh concluded his presentation by emphasizing the high number of MUBS graduates who not only find employment, but also go on to be leaders in their field.

CMU was represented at the meeting by Greg Dainty and Mike Flynn who answered attendee’s queries on Higher Education during a lively Q & A session ending the informative and lively event, the first of many for 2018.
