Seminar by the International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC)

As part of the “Science in the Community” seminar series and in accordance with its mission, the Modern University for Business & Science hosted on March 14, 2017 in its Aley campus a seminar entitled "Infant & Young Child Feeding in Emergencies". The seminar was offered by two guest speakers from IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities).

IOCC is an international US-based relief and development agency that offers emergency relief and development programs to those in need worldwide, without discrimination. Ms. Rana El-Hajj, IOCC's Program Coordinator, presented on the IOCC projects conducted in Lebanon since 2001. She also offered volunteering and training positions for MUBS students. Ms. Joanne Makhoul, Educational Material Consultant & Nutrition Educator at IOCC, discussed the benefits of breastfeeding to both the mother and the baby, in addition to common breastfeeding misconceptions in our society.
