Dr. Yazan Gammoh, Head of Optics Department at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Jordan and a member at the Eastern Mediterranean Region Education Committee of the World Council of Optometry (EMCO) visited MUBS’ School of Health Sciences on June 25^th 2018. Dr. Gammoh met with Dr. Nisreen Alwan, Dean of School of Health Sciences, and Mr. Ahmed Sherry, Acting Chair of Optometry and Vision Science Department.

During the meeting, the parties involved discussed the possibility of implementing the EMCO Optometry Program in the curriculum and on establishing a graduate program in Optometry and Vision Science in partnership with universities from the Middle East and Europe.

Training workshops for professionals and students in the field were discussed and planned to take place at the University Center for Training and Development established by MUBS.
