MUBS organizes the Wellness in Schools Symposium in Rashaya

In collaboration with the Municipality of Rashaya and the World Health Organization (WHO), the Modern University for Business and Science, organized an educational and health symposium under the title“Wellness in Schools”. The Symposium began with a welcome speech by Mrs. Diana Maddah, Public Health Instructor, Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Hatem Alami, Chairman, MUBS, welcomed the attendees by outlining MUBS’ mission and vision as well as the University’s achievements in Higher Education. Ms. Loubna El Batlouni, WHO representative, commended the University’s contribution to Lebanon’s public health education and national wellness. She also released results of a study that was conducted among over 5,000 elementary and secondary students related to the physical and emotional environment in schools as well as academic performance. Also, health tests were conducted by the National Wellness Network team on over 200 persons, mostly students, including vision tests, physiotherapy, blood tests and diet assessments. The Symposium was sponsored by La Citadelle pastry and LORD company who provided the catering and the sound systems respectively.
