Ms. Maha Sawaya is a nursing professional with over 30 years of experience in nursing education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the American University of Beirut (1985) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Birmingham City University (2015). In September 2023, she earned the prestigious certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.

Ms. Sawaya's extensive career began in 1991 as a clinical instructor at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). She has since held educator roles in various international settings, including the UAE (1994-2007) and Australia (2007-2010). From 2011 to 2023, she worked at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar, where she played a significant role in continuing nursing education, serving as a nurse planner and a member of the teaching and learning board.

In October 2023, Ms. Sawaya joined the Nursing Department at the Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) as a Clinical Training Supervisor. Her expertise includes learning needs assessment, classroom, clinical, and simulation-based teaching, as well as mentoring and supporting new nurse educators.
