Dr. Rola Bou Serhal is the chair of research and an assistant professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Dr. Bou Serhal holds a PhD in clinical research and technological innovation from the University of Strasbourg, a research Masters in public health – Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and a BS in Nursing from the Lebanese University.

Aside from being a part time instructor at the FHS at MUBS since 2022, Dr. Bou Serhal deepened her experience in clinical research through her work on international and national studies at the Clinical Research Center at Saint Joseph University of Beirut for six years. She also served as a state registered nurse at the intensive care unit at Hotel Dieu de France Hospital, and as a freelance homecare nurse. Dr. Bou Serhal has several publications in public health, and her research areas include medication adherence, self-management of chronic diseases, internet addiction, and mental health. She was also invited to present her work at many conferences, among which a recent poster at L’Encéphale 2024. Besides, Dr. Bou Serhal is actively spreading awareness about relevant health-related topics, specifically among school children and adolescents, teachers, decision-makers, as well as community members and university students and instructors.
