Post Title: Lecturer in Event/Sport Management/Sport Marketing

Level: Postgraduate Level

Salary Range: Negotiable

2. JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Purpose
  • To contribute to teaching and learning in the field of Sport Management or Sport Marketing.
  • To undertake project supervision and other teaching and learning activities as required by the School.

 

  1. Main Duties and Responsibilities
  2. To take responsibility for the development and delivery of learning, teaching and assessment both at postgraduate level including module leadership where appropriate. To contribute to the development, organisation and management of the curriculum.
  3. To demonstrate innovative approaches to teaching and support for students through the use of a wide range of learning resources and appropriate pedagogic practice.
  4. To ensure that the teaching for which you are responsible is informed by contemporary research in the relevant field and develops the ability of students to engage in debate, critical discourse and rational-thinking.
  5.  To contribute to the wider student experience e.g. through personal tutoring, participation in recruitment, involvement in employability initiatives.
  6. To reflect critically on the teaching for which you are responsible, implementing improvements, disseminating good practice effectively to others, contributing to quality monitoring and enhancement and to professional accreditation processes as appropriate.
  7. To assist with development of external partnerships in Lebanon and the UK and /or overseas and development of relationships with professional organisations and agencies where appropriate.
  8. To work effectively as a team member, contributing to committees and working groups and where appropriate supervising or mentoring other members of staff.
  9. To undertake professional development in support of both teaching and applied research.

Education/

Qualifications

 

Masters degree in an appropriate discipline.

 

 Or

 

 (if from Professional practice background) a good Undergraduate Qualification and appropriate professional qualification and

membership

PhD or very close to completion

 

 

Active membership of a

professional body

 

 

Recognised teaching

qualification

Teaching Experience

 

Some teaching experience in Sport

Management or Sport Marketing at higher education level with evidence of successful learning outcomes.

 

Or (If from Professional practice background) evidence of applying sport management/marketing in practice, high quality presentation skills, and evidence of coaching, mentoring or teaching other professionals.

 

Evidence of contribution to the

Evidence of good pedagogic

practice

Ability to work independently, to
