Nutrition is an integrative science that explores all aspects of the consumption and utilization of foods and nutrients and how these affect health and disease of individuals and populations. The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Nutrition and Dietetics prepares students to apply their knowledge of nutrition to promote healthy eating and lifestyle choices among individuals and groups as well those with special nutritional needs.

Graduates wishing to qualify as licensed dietitians should complete an internship for a minimum of 6 months in a recognized medical setting.

Program Requirements: 97 credits consist of

1. 21 cr. of general university requirements

    12 cr. general education requirements
    9 cr. elective courses

2. 76 cr. of mandatory courses

    22 cr. major requirements
    54 cr. core requirements

3. 6-9 cumulative months of training in a hospital linked to the University

Career opportunities

Graduates in Nutrition will have the opportunities to establish their own work practice as nutritionists, wellness experts, or to join public and private health organizations as food service managers, dietitians, and community counselors.
