Virtual Exchange
Virtual Exchange (VE) is a flexible and unique form of online learning. It is a method that connects individuals, groups, classrooms and institutions, from diverse geographical locations and backgrounds in interactive and immersive experiences through online technology platforms without the need for physical travel.
VE allows participants to engage in virtually facilitated and structured collaborative activities, discussions, sessions, and projects to enhance inter-cultural dialogue, language learning, and skill development.
Simply stated, VE programs employ technology to connect people virtually for education and knowledge exchange, promoting global citizenship and intercultural competence.
The VE stands out as a highly effective tool to equip students with the essential skills and competencies for our modern interconnected world. VE offers access-at-scale to international cross-cultural high-quality education for both individuals and institutions.
On an individual level, VE programs:
Promote a sense of global citizenship allowing for a better engagement, collaboration, and empathy among learners that extend beyond geographical boundaries.
Overcome significant barriers to education and cultural integration caused by mass displacement, cultural disconnects, lack of access to resources & quality education, and rising stereotyping and identity politics mainly faced by individuals in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and displaced or marginalized communities.
Enhance readiness and work skills for securing employment opportunities in an increasingly diverse and global job workforce.
Provide an opportunity for students from different age groups and backgrounds to engage in an upskilling global experience and continued professional development.
On an institutional level, VE programs:
Allow entities to connect with each other through the created ecosystem.
Enhance the institutions’ involvement in global education and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Assist the organizations in developing diverse and impactful meaningful long-standing international and national partnerships.
Enable the institutions to globalize their curricula at a low cost (IREX 2023, Stevens Initiative 2022)
