Dr. Rola Shami and Mrs. Abir Takieddine participated on behalf of MUBS in a workshop session organized by Tempus - HERE Lebanon in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education on June 29, 2012. This workshop was attended by faculty members from different universities in Lebanon.
The workshop was about “Writing Learning Outcomes for Programs and Courses” and was prepared by Dr. Declan Kennedy; an expert in this field.
Dr. Kennedy defined in a first session learning outcomes as opposed to learning goals and objectives. He also explained to the audience how to write these outcomes using the Blooms’ taxonomy.
This session was followed by a practical session during which audience was subdivided into groups. Each group tried to write the learning outcomes of a course of its choice. The work of different groups was then exposed to the audience and received comments from Dr. Kennedy.
After a short break, Dr. Kennedy presented a second lecture about learning outcomes and assessments followed by a practical session as well.
