Indicators for measuring performance in higher education

Dr. Nidal Makarem, Dr. Guitta Abou Khalil, and Dr. Alaadine Ramadan participated on behalf of MUBS in a workshop organized by Issam Fares Institute, AUB, in collaboration with Erasmus + HERE Workshop, and the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education on September 8, 2016. The workshop was attended by Dr. Ahmad Jammal, Directorate General of Higher Education, and large number of field professionals from different universities in Lebanon.

The workshop titled “Indicators for measuring performance in higher education” included three main sessions where subjects as Higher Education Performance Management and Performance Indicators, Creating HEI Performance Indicators Framework, and Calculating, Analyzing & Communicating Performance Indicators were presented and discussed. The workshop aimed at building the capacities within the Lebanese universities in the development and use of performance indicators.

The sessions were followed by a Hands-on session during which attendees were divided into five parallel groups managed by taskforce members covering themes related to Students Admission, Students Support Services, Learning Outcomes & Students Success, Research & Employability, and Teaching and Learning (Faculty professional Development).
