Short Bio

Dr. Maarouf holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University ofSantiago de Compostela (Spain). He is also a Business Ph.D. candidate atthe same university.
Currently, Dr. Maarouf is an assistant professor in the School of Computerand Applied Sciences at M.U.B.S. He has over 16 years of higher educationexperience. In addition to his academic degrees, he possesses manyinternational IT certificates; such as: Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT),Holistic Information Security Practitioner (HISP), Internet and ComputingCore Certification Authorized Instructor (IC3), MTA Windows ServerAdministration, Security, Networking, Database Administration, WindowsOperating System, Web Development, Windows Development, SoftwareDevelopment (C# & VB.NET), Microsoft Office Specialists Master, andInternational Computer Driving License (ICDL).
Dr. Maarouf worked as a research assistant in the KEAM lab at theUniversity of Santiago de Compostela from September 2017 until July 2018.He also worked at M.U.B.S as the coordinator of the Computer Sciencedepartment from January 2012 until August 2015, a full-time lecturer fromJanuary 2004 until August 2015, an IT specialist, a Database and SoftwareDeveloper, and the Administrator of Certiport and Microsoft testing centerfrom January 2004 until December 2011.
His research interests focus on terminology and ontology mapping,archetypes, knowledge representation, ontology design, and facial andemotion recognition.
